When did you arrive at the Northern Warehouse?

I moved here from Colorado in July of 2006.

How has the Northern Warehouse helped you as an artist?

At this point I am taking a break between careers. The affordability of the Northern Warehouse is giving me the opportunity to concentrate on my artwork, as well as offering the physical space that I need to make paper and assemble the pieces.

What project(s) are you currently working on?

I have two series in the development stage right now. One is a sculptural series of life size figures emerging from seed shapes all made from paper. The other series is an extension of my wearable book series where I make clothing from paper and incorporate text. The interaction of the text on the various 'figures' tells a story. I am currently writing the text for a wedding party which includes the bride and groom, the maid of honor and the best man, and both sets of parents.

Describe a recent completed project...what was challenging and/or gratifying about it?

I just completed an installation piece called 'A View from the Cage' that includes four, 4' x 8' sprayed paper panels. Each panel is a single piece of paper where the images are built up through multiple layers of colored pulp sprayed through stencils. (photo included) The concept of this particular piece demanded that the images be rather stark and graphic, but I hope to develop this technique into more subtle images as well.

Anything else you would like people to know about you?

The majority of my work is prints. The images are created from original photos that are adapted and collaged in Photoshop and printed either by traditional photo lithographic techniques or as giclee prints.
