When did you arrive at the Northern Warehouse?

In the spring of 1998.

How has the Northern Warehouse helped you as an artist?

Living around other artists can be very inspiring. The space is perfect for projects of any size.

What projects are you currently working on?

I have returned to art school after a 12 year hiatus. Previously I was a painting major at Maryland Institute, College of Art. I am now at MCAD studying furniture design. I have been making lithographs, building websites, furniture and sculpture.

Describe a recent completed project...what was challenging and/or gratifying about it?

I recently built a contact lens case out of steel. Having never worked with metal before (i.e. welding, cutting, bending, etc), I was a bit nervous. But once I got into the project, I became more comfortable and produced an object that was more compelling than the initial concept.

Who or what inspires you creatively?

Good, clean design. Ray and Charles Eames. Gerrit Rietveld. Naoto Fukasawa. Danish furniture design.
